ODYSSEY OF THE MIND FUNDRAISER

The area OM teams that qualified for World Finals are having a car wash/plant sale fundraiser at Oak Park School on Garfield on Sat. May 10th and Sat. May 17th from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Tickets are also on sale for a Performance, Raffle and Dessert night at TC West Senior High on Monday, May 19th at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $5. 

DRESSES STILL AVAILABLE 

Some really nice dresses for “Farewell Freshmen” for $5 are still available!  See Mrs. Brown in the girls’ locker room.

LOST AND FOUND ITEMS

Please check all grade wings, the cafeterias and the locker rooms for any items you are missing, as all unclaimed items will be recycled for use in p. e. or donated to charity at the fast-approaching school year end.  Please check the cafeterias for textbooks!  There are several that have been left, especially on the table in the gold cafeteria.  Exam days are June 9th – 11th.

FAREWELL FRESHMAN DANCE

The Final Farewell Freshmen Dance will be Friday, May 16th from 7:30 –10:30 p.m. Tickets are $6 and sales will be May 7th – May 15th during lunch. No date required! No ticket sales on the 16th during school or at the door! Free snacks and pop provided at the dance. Lots of activities besides dancing will be available. Class rings will be distributed during the first hour. 

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY MEETING

Any 7th, 8th or 9th grade boy interested in running Titan Cross Country in the fall should attend the meeting during resource on Thursday, May 15th in the P. E. Balcony. Get a pass from the 8th or 9th grade offices or the boys’ p. e. office. Remember to sign out of your resource.

NJHS 4TH QUARTERLY MEETINGS

  • The 8th grade meeting is Tuesday, May 13 in the green cafeteria during resource.

  • The 9th grade meeting is Wednesday, May 14 in the green cafeteria during resource.

  • Bring your 4th quarter service project form to the meeting or turn it in ahead of time to your wing office.

  • Sign out of your resource and bring homework or a book to read.

  • If you are unable to attend the resource meeting, you must attend the make-up meeting in the multipurpose room. See your wing bulleting board for information.  See you then!

SUMMER TITAN SPORT CAMPS 

For Titan summer sports camps, check on line at http://www.tcwestboosters.com/athletics.html .  Currently available information includes boys and girls basketball camps.  Keep watching for more camp information!

BENEFIT SPAGHETTI DINNER

Friday, May 16th from 5-8 p.m. at Westwoods Elementary there will be a Benefit Spaghetti Dinner for the Johnson Family.  Tom Johnson was involved in a barn explosion and has had several graft surgeries already, with more to come.  Tom’s wife, Jennifer is a teacher at Westwoods.  She has also taught at Long Lake.  Also at the dinner is a silent auction. 

SPORTS PHYSICALS

TCAPS will sponsor a sports physical day on Saturday, May 10th from 8:00 – 11:00 a.m. at East Junior High.  Cost is $20.  All medical information and permission signatures must be filled in by parent/guardian before the physical can be performed.   MHSAA regulations state that all athletes must have a sports physical on file in their school athletic office before they can participate in any school-sponsored sport.  Physicals must be performed on or after April 15, 2008 for athletic eligibility for the 2008-09 school year. 

 

Jenny Kennedy and Shelby Newhouse shut down Petoskey in a pair of 3 inning mercy wins, 18-0, 15-1.  Laura Cizek had a double and a triple and Alison Friar a double in the opener.  Tina Green had 3 hits, including a double with Alison Friar adding her second double in the nightcap.

Lauren Bilinski was a winning pitcher in game one as the Titan JV Softball team swept Kalkaska 14-1, 18-3.

Freshmen Softball at the Boyne JV Tournament.
JV Softball at the Pinconning Tournament.
Varsity Softball hosts the Titan Invitational at WSH.
8:00 - 11:00 a.m.  Sports Physicals at East Junior High - $20.
JV and Varsity Golf at the St. Francis Invitational at the GT Resort.
Monday, May 12th
3:00 p.m.  WJH Track at the East Jordan Relays.
5:00 p.m.  JV Soccer, followed by Varsity host Mt. Pleasant at the Coast Guard Field.
Tuesday, May 13th
9:30 a.m.  JV and Varsity Golf at Cadillac Invitational.
4:00 p.m.  Varsity Track at TC Central.
4:15 p.m.  JV Softball at Cadillac, Varsity Softball hosts Cadillac at WSH.
4:00 p.m.  Freshmen Softball hosts Alpena.
5:00 p.m.  JV Soccer, followed by Varsity host Petoskey at the Coast Guard Field.
Wednesday, May 14th
4:00 p.m.  WJH track at Petoskey.
4:00 p.m.  Softball and Baseball host Glen Lake.
4:30 –6:00 p.m.  “Welcome to West” party for next year’s 7th grade.
Thursday, May 15th
Resource – 7th – 9th Grade Boys Cross Country meeting in the P. E. balcony.
