Townsend
West Jr. High 9th Grade Principal
I started out as a Spanish teacher at this junior high MANY
years ago, after having completed a BA from Michigan State in English and
Spanish, plus an MA in School Administration. I later completed course
work so that I could teach K-12 and could be a principal K-12.
I have been an elementary teacher at Cherry Knoll and Old Mission. I was an elementary principal at Interlochen El, Silver Lake El, Central Grade, East Bay El and Eastern El. I have been a wing principal at East Junior High and finished out my career at TCAPS as the Central High School principal.
After I retired, I began working immediately in Florida at IMG Sports Academies (IMGworld.com). We have a private school on the grounds of the sports academies in Bradenton. Soccer, baseball, basketball, golf and tennis are our sports, with Bollettieri Tennis and David Leadbetter Golf being the more famous academies. It is great fun working with young athletes from all over the world!
I am fortunate this fall to be with our fantastic Freshmen at WJH! I am the interim principal presently.
I have a wonderful wife plus an incredible daughter (and a son-in-law added to the picture not too long ago…) I love Anna Maria Island off the coast of Bradenton…so that is where you will find me when I can work it into my schedule!!!
