Open Office is a free
download. Add this free software to your home computer. *The laptops
have ONLY Open Office software on them. They DO NOT have MS Office software on them.
All students from Kindergarten through 5th grade come for instruction to the Computer Lab once or twice a week depending on grade level. There are 30 computers in the Computer Lab. Central Grade lessons range from basic keyboarding skills in Type to Learn to Internet research, Power-Point presentations, spreadsheets and graphs and many other projects. We also use MS Office, Open Office, Kidspiration, Inspiration, Edmark, Zoo Zillions, Sammy's Science House, Trudy's Time and Place and Heroes and Write On.
We have three wireless laptop carts. Students can use the laptops to access any projects they are working on in the Computer Lab right in their classroom and teachers can have students use the laptops for research and other projects. Laptops have Open Office software programs that is just like MS Office programs. We will be using Open Office in the Computer Lab. Open Office is a free download.
