Coaches and Referees
Referees are important to any Intramural game. Mr. Farley, the Physical Education teacher, tries to ref all of the games, but sometimes he needs some help. That's why teachers volunteer to help him. Sixth graders referee when not enough teachers are available. Only 4th, 5th and 6th grade students are allowed to play in the Intramural games, so the teachers that volunteer, normally teach 4th, 5th or 6th grade. But sometimes the principal, Mrs. Dionne refs the play-off games for basketball or volleyball.
The coaches for the Intramural games are the student captains of the team. The captains are chosen randomly by Mr. Farley, their job is to pick their teammates rotating from class to class on a piece of paper and decide who goes in and out when it is time to substitute players. These coaches also play in the games.
