Michigan Legacy Art Park and Central Grade School

Patricia Innis is an environmental artist who worked with 5th grade students to create artwork related to the theme of bird migration.  She worked with the art teacher, Cherie Correll and Jasmie Wilson and with teachers, Jaye Lynn Trapp, Tracey Westerman, Laine Kyser and Steve Balcom to create wire sculpture of birds in flight and also ceramic birds.  They also painted shadows of birds on trees around the school.  The shadows were painted with a natural dye Ms. Innis made from Black Walnuts.  The shadow birds will fade over time.  You can find more of Ms. Innis work at the Michigan Legacy Art Park.  For more information about the park visit the website at www.michlegacyartpark.org.
