Ms. Miholer earned a BA in Communication Arts from Michigan State University and earned her teaching certification from Grand Valley State University. She is planning on earning an MA in gifted education through the University of Connecticut beginning this winter. She was a free-lance writer for the Record Eagle and other publications for 18 years while raising her family on Old Mission Peninsula. Her teaching experience includes working at West Senior High with ESL and at-risk students and also at Grand Traverse Academy in a 4th, 5th, 6th grade classroom. She and her husband have three daughters, one who is a junior at T.C. Central High, and two who have graduated from the University of Michigan. In her free time Ms. Miholer likes to read, write, go boating, kayak, bike, hick, travel and play groom for her daughter's horse while keeping the statistics for T.C. Central's equestrian team.
